Making an Amazing Impact For Future Generations

Samuel M. FinemanWhile living a charitable life can bring great joy, extending your giving through death will establish your legacy. As the author Maya Angelou once said, “If you’re going to live, leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that can’t be erased.”

This is exactly what Samuel M. Fineman did. Sam, as he was known to many, lived most of his life in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, where he enjoyed flying airplanes and outdoor sports. Sam retired to Boca Raton when he sold his family business. Here, he continued his philanthropic lifestyle.

While living in South Florida, Sam encountered some health challenges and became a regular patient at the Gloria Drummond Physical Rehabilitation Institute (GDPRI). The staff at the Institute was persistent with his therapy and got him to a place where he was able to regain physical confidence in his daily life.

Throughout his rehab journey, Sam developed a strong bond with both his primary physical therapist and the director of GDPRI. He would often email or call them to share his progress and health updates.

At Boca Raton Regional Hospital and at all of our Institutes, we strive to provide the very best in quality healthcare. The care that Sam received had such an impact on his life that he not only made gifts during his lifetime, but he felt compelled to leave the hospital in his final estate plan as well.

Sam’s bequest was incredibly generous and will be used by the Gloria Drummond Physical Rehabilitation Institute for continued improvements where needed, including the expansion of manual techniques, treatment modalities, advanced technologies, and evidence-based programs.

Boca Raton Regional Hospital is so appreciative to have donors like Sam Fineman who understand the need to ensure the future of our hospital and its Institutes as we continue to offer the very best in patient care.

It’s because of estate gifts like his that Boca Regional will continue to be a preeminent healthcare organization in South Florida for many years to come.
